Junction
The ensemble members will lead a voyage through tonal settings: standing in a traffic jam, the satellite experience of a star in space, a modest existential contemplation, and a climb up a rocky hill. Five original pieces created through collaborative discussion and design by a group of contemporary musicians.
The Electroacoustic Ensemble is a research lab where the process in which an idea becomes an artistic product goes through a democratic discussion, and individual processes become an agreed group statement and a shared path. The process facilitates the meeting of musicians from a range of practices and perspectives, exceptional combinations of skillsets, and the formulation of a common language. The original pieces are a snapshot of a time and place where one can experiment with writing for and participating in a large and diverse ensemble.
